Below is a list of races within the world as well as general information regarding their associations and trade. Any of these races are viable options for NPC creation so long as they integrate themselves within the overall story and theme of the group. This list is subject to change whether it be through associations or the number of listed races. If a species you have in mind is not located in this section, please refer to the Bestiary as some associated creatures may be found there as well.
Lands occupied by factions are typically shared with their alliances. In the case that an alliance ends, the race of mythos in question may remain in said lands until associating with another faction. If they overextend their stay past this point, they will be driven out by the other residing people.
Merchants allied with certain trades may purchase material and resell them for higher values to other factions. However, this is considered a traitorous act. The result of which has begun a stream of underground black markets for magic trade. Races that are defeated in battle are subject to having their bodily parts sold by the winning faction temporarily (1-month real time.) Said parts differ from what is typically sold and can be put on market for any price
Proxy Wars
Given the nature of the group and the ongoing conflict between the factions and allied races, wars will be waged against opposing forces as they attempt to conquer more lands. However, roleplaying in these battles will not be commonplace within the group (unless one wishes it to be.) Instead, most of the focus in roleplaying around the conflict will be placed on the before and after such as planning, preparing, negotiating, and recovering after a battle.
Each faction and ally come with a set of their own base points in strength that can collectively be put to use in battle. However, once sent to battle there will be a recovery time that starts after it ends.
For example, if Halcyon (valued at 4 points) sends out dryads which are valued at 3 points and witches at 2 points, the factions collective point total will be 5. If Halcyon chooses to fight alongside their allies with their set base of 4 points, the collective point total will be 9. If an opposing faction’s total points is higher, let’s say 12, then they would win against Halcyon and earn the territory for their own people.
All units sent to battle will have a real-time recovery period. If dryads were used and they were valued at the 3 points, it will take them 3 months to fully recover. They will recover one point for each month that they rest. If they are sent out to battle before their full recovery time is finished it will create tension between them and the allied faction. On the third time that this occurs, the race will break the allyship with the faction and set their sights elsewhere. Other instances where a race may break allyship is if a faction’s territory is too small that it can no longer sustain them and their populations.
Not every battle must be fought, some factions may stay out of it or remain completely uninvolved while in other cases a truce may be called, and in some a total forfeit. It is important as a team that everyone coordinates and plans for these battles well. In the case they have no more allies ready at their disposal, they leave themselves vulnerable and open to a full-on conquer.
